I apologise for writing to you in German but in no other language can I express how sorry I feel about the death of your son. Andrew visited Justus in Germany twice, the last time being in June this year. Together they went to the World Exhibition. Andrew was such a lovely person. We were all very happy about his visits. He was a very witty and fine story-teller. His tales from his last trip or his activities in Bosnia were extremely interesting.

I am trying to conceive how much you miss your son and I find it very difficult. I am mourning together with you for Andrew. If there can be any comfort for you that may be in the knowledge that your son was very much loved by many people, who are now mourning for him.
